Membership
As a Baptist church, we are committed to a regenerate church body. You must be born again and baptized to be a part of the church. All believers have been given the same Holy Spirit and are baptized into Christ and united with His body. Membership is a covenant to live for the glory of Christ and to work for good of His people. We covenant with other believers to work together for mutual spiritual growth, encouragement, and evangelism (Heb. 10:24-25) and to use our God-given resources and spiritual gifts to build each other up and to contribute regularly to His organized work (2 Cor. 9:6-15; 1 Cor. 12:7, 11).
Membership Process
Attend an ABC’s of ABC Course (New Members’ Course), which covers:
Who is ABC?
What do we Believe?
What is the Gospel?
What is Membership?
Have an Elder Interview
One of the elders will meet with you to hear your story, how you came to faith in Christ, and what God is doing currently in your life.
Provide a Church Letter, Share your Testimony, or be Baptized at ABC
If possible, getting a letter from your last church is desired. This allows your last church to share about your faithfulness there. If you have not been in church awhile or cannot get a letter, your personal testimony is sufficient. For those who have never been baptized before, baptism is the next step.
Sign our Church Membership Vows
Our church is committed to congregational rule. We believe the church has final authority on matters of doctrine, leadership, and the holiness of the church. In a desire to be faithful to Scripture, we have made Church Membership Vows which are based on biblical commands. Each member at ABC promises to live a holy life in obedience to God and to build other believers up in love.
Be Presented to the Congregation
New members are brought before the congregation for affirmation as a part of ABC.
