ABC’s Distinctives

Historical

As members of the global body of Christ, ABC realizes the importance of our place in history. Many faithful Christians have fought for the truths presented in Scripture. These believers have held orthodox views, both of the Trinity and the person of Christ. We seek to guard the good deposit that has been entrusted to us (2 Tim. 1:14).

Protestant

ABC is a protestant church. We hold to the reformational truths that helped rediscover the true gospel. We pray that through the proclamation of the gospel reformation and revival will come to Italy. These truths are known as the Five Solas. They are:

Sola Scriptura- Scripture is the only sufficient, inerrant, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience.

Solus Christus- Christ alone is our only source of righteousness before God.

Sola Fide- Justification is by faith in the work of Jesus Christ alone.

Sola Gratia- We are saved by God’s free and generous gift of Christ alone.

Soli Deo Gloria-All of life and salvation resounds to the glory of God alone.

Baptist

As a Baptist church we believe a local church consists of those who have been born-again in Christ Jesus. We practice a congregational church polity under the leadership of godly elders. Baptism is reserved for believers only. As a church we welcome believers from many different denominational backgrounds, while also remaining grateful for the Baptist history of which we are a part. Baptists have a long history of missions and a deep love for Scripture and we strive to continue in fulfilling the Great Commission.
